From 4th grade to High School, Lacrosse is riding a big wave in Decatur. The DHS High School boy’s pushed into the second round of the State playoffs last year, and DHS girls finished just two goals shy of making it to the second round. The 8th grade boys team recently accomplished a 2nd place finish in AMSLL tournament this summer.
For the upcoming spring lax season, the rosters are filled with players for the 4th through 8th grade teams.
The success story of Decatur lax has been built on everyday Dads and Moms stepping up to coach. It’s your turn to step up and coach or assist with your son’s or daughter’s team.
Here are a few facts:
-
Decatur lacrosse coaches have always been volunteer parents.
-
Experience is welcome, but… not all of the past parent/coaches have had previous coaching experience.
-
Only a few of the past parent/coaches actually played lacrosse themselves.
-
You’ll have support: Decatur Active Living, as well as lax parents/previous coaches will make sure you have what you need to succeed.
